K member, and the harness/speedo/tach issue... otherwise it's pretty straight forward.. LS3's use TBW.. so they give ya the pedal w/ the GMPP kit...

Isn't it still cheaper to buy a car with an LS1 in it?

u can keep the swap for under 5-6k$ if u hunt around for deals.
a ls3 intake will work with a fast,nw,etc. 90mm tb

Yup..all you have to do is rig up the linkage.

I spent about $6k on what I have..got some pretty good deals on alot of things.

As far as getting the Engine in.. I used the LT1 K-member and Conversion Mounts, you can go either way though. You will have to use a LS1 Steering Rack and Linkage for that.

You still plan on going with the Auto? If so you will have to make a conversion mount for that as well..

Easier / cheaper ... in most cases, yes.

If you happen to be attached to the car you have or don't want to deal
with swapping mods over to the new car (in some cases, you can't move them)
then swapping in an LSx makes a whole lot more sense.

Then again, if you're building a purposebuilt custom LS1 motor from the ground up,
you don't save a whole lot by having an LS1 car to begin with. Anything that was
useful probably got replaced as part of the project anyhow.

Not necessarily..judging by the fact that you will more than likely have a Car payment.
If you have a cheaper Car that you can do a swap in, that's where it's cheaper.

Depends on what you build too..

ehh maybe cheaper, other then the fact that i got this car as a 1993 t/a, LT1 head and cam, p&p, stall gears, spray, suspension, 2 extra nitrous kits, 2 extra sets of headers, msd, and crane ignition, welds, etc etc for 650bucks off some kid that was really hurting for money, and the only thing other then needing a paint job was that the car only has 1st and 2nd gear. so i guess cheaper wouldnt be entirely true. cant beat 650bucks. imo. so i figure all the money i saved not getting a new loan and interest to buy a ls car, i can dump all that into my bored out LS3 project, and by the time i put that money into it, lets say somewhere around 10k, i could have maybe bought a bolt on ls car in good condition.

^^Yea.. you can do alot with 10K. I have that in my built Engine, a couple built A4's, and a Moser 9"

$650 for the Car.. nice find.

Exactly, mine was paid for the day I got it.

I do my own Wiring Harnesses/other custom wiring work, and I'm buying the EFI Live Tuning program to start tuning on my car myself.

I'd just buy an LS and swap the LT front clip.
