So I raced a Lexus with a v8
I was supposed to get video but no one was around and me and him wanted to go for it. We drive out to a spot outside of town, line up, he lays down the three honks and we go for it. He stalls his car, I just lay into mine of the line. Slight wheel spin nothing bad at all and I look over and this fool is right next to me. We get to about 45-50 and I start to pull away. At about 115-120, I shut it down and he was a good ways back. Hard to tell when it's just me how far I was ahead but I started gettin away from him pretty quickly.

I would have liked to give it a go...I got a performance SC400 Lexus running on nitrous, with all the performance and handling mods possible... I am about to begin a LS2 swap in this same ride and ditch my 4.0L V8 Lexus motor.. I am sure I would have gave you a better run for your money in my Lexus not to brag..
I've raced several newer Vette's no Camaro's in the past 6 years and they have always given me fits but to my credit they all have been very close races except for the Z06 I raced one time.. It pulled on me.....
An SC430 with headers isn't really that fast unless it is boosted.. It's 4.3Liter 4 cam V8 motor with maybe 300hp combined with the automatic tranny on a relatively heavy car, you should have pulled away on that race... Congrats..

I really wouldn't trade my Lexus car for a GTO, as the lexus's are very solid smoothe comfortable rides..No rattles or air leaks, no play in the steering wheel and the tranny never pumps even with high miles.. The same can't be said for some of our sweet GM rides, unfortunately.... Although I wouldn't pass up an LS2 engine powerplant...Love those motors...

Hey your right, my mistake and yes they did come with 260 stock and with his mods he may be makin close to 300hp (not at the wheels). This dude was pretty cool about it. He said that he knew he wasn't gonna beat me, he just wanted to see if he could get closer to me than that GXP did. He got beat by the grand prix before and was wondering if his mods made a decent difference. For the record, he was closer to me than the GXP was at the end.
