Default Let's hear some opinions, who builds a good FI shortblock now a days?

Alright, I really don't know where to stick this post but since it's FI related here it is.

I am looking for a forged 5.7 or 6.0 short block and searching for opinions on who here has a good rep is literally impossible. The few posts that did turn up seemed to be in favor of LME, HKE, or HPE.

granted HKE, LME, Speed Inc, SLP, etc etc are all good places to go. wouldn't you rather have someone closer to your location so you can see the work first hand, and if something goes wrong they are closer for warranty work?

i cant copy and paste the link but weber has a sale on forged LS2's until tomorrow for 3500 bucks in the sponsor sale section. They've made a good name for themselves in the turbo buick world and have done real well here so far.

Pretty much any sponsor associated with this site, my fav's:

Katech
EPP
LME

Pick up the most recent copy of GMHTP and they feature roughly 20 stokers motors, most of which are LS1TECH sponsors.

For a turbo motor, I think Hans Feustal is the best. He has been building Wolfe's motors for the last couple of years, so those guys have alot of R&D in them.

Are you saying there is a problem with Weber engines, or are you just generalizing when you say "cheaper is not always better"?

Our prices are not cheap. We had a summer sale to help put some of our stuff out there to get into hands of the LS1 Tech Community. Check out some of the builds that will be in the dyno section soon from Vengeance. We are one of the only sponsors that do ALL of our machine work in house. All of our engines are built to the needs of the customer. We are not going to sell some generic package that works for everyone. We make sure that your money is spent in the right areas. All of our engines are fully CNC blueprinted, honed and align honed. We now even go the extra mile to hone the cam tunnel to make sure everything is perfect when it leaves our shop.
We did not get our article together in enough time for GMHTP though we were asked to submit some engine options.

To the OP. I woud say 60% of our builds are of the forced induction nature. We can build an engine to meet your needs. Shoot me a PM or post what you have in mind.

Thanks,
Leo
