Default project nightmare

OVERVIEW:
as some of u know at the end of july i was driving home from work and got rearended on 71 south. i was going 25mph in the slow lane with my hazards on bc i wanted to be cautious and this is what happened.......

So....i bought a buddy (skinnies) 1996 formula roller that came with q1a's and a wire tucked engine bay and some other goodies for 1700ish. then i sold my full suspension set up on off the camaro except for the spohn 1in rear sway.

GOALS:
make a fun weekend car that can compete for the bolt on m6 record (11.805@113.96) and run mid 11's on the bottle

parts from camaro (denzel) thats getting used: 80k lt1 w/ 1.6rr and manley springs, t56, moser 9in with spool, ls1 rear brakes, and 4:11's, draglites, Titainium Retainers, pro 5.o shifter, acpt carbon fiber driveshaft, and some others im forgetting

parts adding to the engine/chassis from the camaro:
kirkey pro street seats, elec. water pump, nano kit, front k-member/lower a arms, umi adj lca's and panhard, bmr extreme tq arm, pirate subframes, battery relocation, manual brakes, and a few other odd and ends.

race weight goal:
2850

9/2/2008

finally started tearing into my project last nite (been moving into a new place). worked about 2 hours and got alot done.

buddy took the front bumper stuff and fenders off of denzel

took the moser 9in out and got a closer look at the damage to the passenger side spring cup

went outside and worked on the formula (nightmare)
took out the carpet and seats since im saving for kirkey's and ozite carpet. took out all 4 rear speakers (not gonna run a cd player, making a custom gauge holder deal in the cd player hole), the auto stuff, and the ebrake assembly.

9/15

the camaro now has the tranny, all rear suspension, and dash all out. starting on the motor here in a few. i ordered UMI chromoly double adj lca and panhard bar last week.

picked up a ls1 slp lid setup and two 275/60/15's to put on my draglites from a local tonight along with the custom alternator bracket that levi made for his old 383 pro setup. thanks for the hook up's fella's

will be ordering the pa k member in a few days. still deciding if i should order it with the pinto setup to run a manual rack or not.

a local lsx guy is in the process making some nice custom seat brackets for the kirkleys i got to sit in a car tonight with the 17in seat for the driver side ill prolly order the same seat setup that he is rolling with (17in ds and 19in ps)

thats all i got done so far. ill get some recent pics up when my camera charges

Nice! Glad things are working out, and sounds like most of the performance goodies survived the wreck.

2850 will be interesting, but it is doable. You're going to have to buy quite a bit of stuff to hit that kind of weight. I've got mine all calculated and figured it would be around 2917.740301 if I didn't add the turbo setup and did everything else I planned on doing. That's also with AC, PS, all the interior panels, 8 point cage, etc... Prepare for a lot of work either way. I have quite a few months in just taking the time to strip my 93 down.

BIG_T - It sounds like you have a fun project, I wish you the best on getting that bolt-on record, I have tried a few times this year and hope to do better when the weather cools off some more, plus I dropped about 240ish # off the car since the 11.86 I ran in the spring...

Beaflag VonRathburg - I need to weigh mine but after doing the front brakes and the latest rounds of weight reduction I think I may be somewhere near 2850# right now, we will find out when I take it to the track this Sunday and weigh it there...

because the title settings were messed up last spring when I ran the 11 second run and there was a sticky stating this, but I just went to that section and found the stickies removed so I guess thay have that working again, so I will put my name on the list to get that changed, thanks for letting me know it was working again...

thanks for the kind words guys

tonight me and a buddy worked on the camaro for about 3 hours. cut the front core support out, pulled the motor, pulled engine/trans harness, pulled the whole pedal assembly, pulled slave cylinder and clutch master, took out the master and booster, started taking off the body harness, we took out the stock k member and front suspensuon. all thats left is finishing the body harness, line lock and brake lines then its going to the crusher
