Best way to Find out which cam
I just bought some ported heads and matched intake. I am working with a stock lt1. I figured while the motors out might as well get a cam. So how do i go about getting the right cam. I was thinking about calling up comp cams and telling them whats done, my valve sizes, springs and so on and so forth. And the guy i bought them off of didnt know what they flow, do i need the flow numbers of the heads to get the cam matched right? I plan on using

How high are you willing to rev the engine. I shift at 6400 and it makes power well past 6000. I sounds nasty as hell at idle and has good power but it likes high rpm. This winter I'm switching to a Lloyd Elliott custom cam and a few other things. You might contact him or Advanced Inductions and see if they have a cam for the same price better suited for what you want to do. I'm sure others will agree off the shelf stuff works but, you'll get better results with a custom cam. Otherwise I'll sell ya mine!

Calling Comp Cams would be a mistake they 9 out of 10 times do not know ****. Your best bet is to contact a reputable custom cam person like Bret Bauer, Advanced Induction, Cam Motions etc. and have them design you a cam. You could also lay out all your goals for the car, your setup, and your limits (rpm's, pass emissions?) and I along with many others on here could get you on track.
