Everyone look at this SS hood. Is this intended to work with a LS1 lid/intake?

Definitely have not seen the underside of a LT1 SS hood look like that.

The therory is good but thats alot of routing and you would prob loose power by the time the air gets to the motor. The stock SS set up kinda sucks too.
Your better off using a WS6 style hood. Not my favorite hood style for a camaro but im sure it works the best.

Sorry didn't read the LS1 part... Looks like it would work with an LS1 lid, but I think you would be better off with the LT1 SS set-up.

I'll have to take some pics of my stock SS one that I modified. I insulated under the scoop and gutted out the baffles, seems to work pretty good, I don't have any dyno #'s to back it up though.

it routes the air the same way my 93-97 sunoco raim air hood does....except it would be pointless on this hood becuase all the routing the air has to go through...its a nice hood though and an easy way to have a functional ss hood with out buying the SS box and stuff.....nice idea though

Thats awesome this has finally come about so that I can tell my story about this hood. BTW that is my pic on the Sandy River Bridge. All I can say is the fit is Dog Shi* for the most part. First off it hits the Alternator and has rubbed the fiberglass away in 2 spots. I actually just got done cutting a small piece out so the hood would close down all the way. It does not fit all that well on the sides by the fenders..gaps between them...nothing too bad, but I'm picky with the outer looks. To top it off, there were spots on top of the hood that needed filling in. If there was snow on the hood you could have had a pretty fun sled ride down the many different hills..lol. I got VERY luck with this hood...reason is the shop that worked on it had such a hard time working on it and kept f-ing up on spots so they said come pick it up and that they never wanted to see another fiberglass hood again. Got the basic prep, some filling and it painted for nothing. I ended up paying $350 plus shipping for it from where I ordered it from. Not bad for what it looks like on the outside..ha! Kicker is the company I bought it from told me they had never had any issues with them fitting. He said they line right up w/ no problems..B.S.!!! If I didn't get the deal I did I would have had a plane ticket and my steel toes on! I'm going to hunt down where I got it from later cause I don't remember.

I'm not proud of these but here is your proof. At least she runs like a BEAST The only thing good I can say about this hood is that it's really light! Shed some lbs. for sure.

i wouldnt expect the underside being molded after the LS1 hood to be a clearance keeper, since the LS1 has the alternator down low.

my cowl hood is from them and its great

I would not have been interested in making it functional, I like the appearance and the price caught my eye. But if you have to hack it up, no spank you.

You don't have to hack it up if you don't mind the hood sticking up a bit from hitting the alternator I don't blame ya. Apperance outside is nice and the cost wasn't too bad even though the quality ended up being poor. You can look around for a actual SS hood but damn they are spendy!
