Generation III External Engine - 160 stat in a 99 ls1?

can anyone tell me what the benifits of going from the stock t-stat to a 160 stat in a 99 ls1 would be? just picked a 160 stat up but not to sure if i wanna put it in. thanks

I'm running a 160 stat only because of the blower causing higher air inlet temps and I had to remove the two stock fans/shroud for a single 14" fan. If your stock or close to stock I would leave the oem in.
