Upgrade or Downgrade? opinions please i recently sold my 98 ss camaro(pic in profile) mods included stainless longtubes, tru duals cut b4 rear, slp lid, slp cai, slp smooth bellow,3.42 gears, 1.5 " drop, 17x9.5 and 17 x 11 zr1 chrome rims with mickey thompson drag radials, ported throttle body and maf(by me) egr/ air delete, slp ss mats, ss dash plaque, auto trans, poly bushings, new water pump, alternator, ac comp, vette covers, ss front grill,new ss 3rd brake light, accel wires. gteched at 13.1. downside was car had 178k on original motor, trans was starting to slip under full throttle(like in a race) but not too bad. cheap lowering springs ride wasnt too good. paint was chipped and car was completely keyed. probably needed new front bumper and passenger fender. ss hood had cracks. oil pressure always hung around 20 psi-made me nervous. also needed tune for headers and motor mounts. sold for $5500 and 2 weeks later bought
2001 pewter z28 , 126k, completely stock,good paint, kn filter, ac compressor doesnt work, needed new windshield, new wheel bearing, no tint, auto trans, 8.5 out of 10 on the tan leather interior, oil psi at 40-45 never drops. black dash and door panels. something i always wanted on other car was charcoal grey leather and dash.
payed about 1800 less than what i sold the ss for and have since fixed
windshield, wheelbearing, even trade on stock 16 z28 rims for 17x9 silver zr1s and added 3.73 gears. car feels very quick almost as quick as the ss and only mod is the 373s. get mixed reviews from my peers since i sold my ss for a newer z28. what do y' all think. sorry i dont got pics except profile pic
