Default New best, got a couple questions.....

Got 2 passes in last night (big thanks to the ******** with their POS cars oiling the track down in spectacular fashion 3 times) and went 10.14 at 139.36, 1.63 60'. Car will just not get the **** out of the hole. This convertor has to be too tight. I can't hardly foot brake it to 1500 RPM without it creeping through the beams, and no matter how I launch I'm stuck in the low 1.6's. It sucks going 139 in the 1/4 and still not going 9's. Should I try anything else before having it loosened?

If it footbrakes at 1500rpm, it's killing you. I'd fix the converter.

Are you using a two step? if your foot braking to stage your car the throttle blade is not open very far and will limit the air flow to the engine. If you install a two step the throttle blade will be wide open and you should build a few psi of boost too. 60' will get faster and your car should run deep into the 9's with the mph your running. LPE sells one that even has a timing retard to help build starting line boost faster. George

Get that converter fixed or get a different converter. 1500rpm is not ideal to leave at.

If I can't hold 1500 RPM I highly doubt a 2 step will help, that would be even more power to try and hold.

The car is not spinning, its just weak off the line.

Shouldn't you have more converter than a 3500? I can leave at 3200 on my ss4000 and I cut 1.5's (except the last outing at the backyard track)

A transbrake locks reverse and first gear together, it's way different from footbraking.

I ran a 10.05@137.74 @ 16 psi 1.51 6.4/111 last night on pump gas, I would say that the car was making 650-700hp on that pass and the mph might be off since I melted the vacuum line to the BOV.

I would think you need more converter, I bogged on my 1.51 since I only left on 5 psi at like 3700.

With those kind of MPH's you will be easy mid 9's if you can launch. Junk the converter, it is your problem, although it may the saving grace for your 4L60E.

Nice runs! I bet you can hook it on the street with the tight converter.

Either trans brake or new converter, but I'd think about the trans brake. Chances could be you're just making too much torque for the brakes to hold and if that's the case a trans brake ought to have you leaving much harder.

With your 1.60 60's curious what you have for compression and a camshaft in that motor?

Its a secret.....

j/k, but I honestly don't know. I just know that it makes killer power for 13 psi from a D1SC on pump gas.
