its amazing what water, simple green and armor all can do my engine bay had been looking pretty sad lately...so I decided to give it a cleaning. I covered the PCM with a plastic bag (precautionary) and removed the Harlan 2 step (not waterproof) then lightly sprayed the engine bay with a garden hose. sprayed on the simple green and sprayed off with water. Once dried I hit all the plastic/rubber with some armor all. Pretty awesome looking now

Do that same procedure again and this time try CD-2 Engine detailer. I think you'll be even more pleased.

Re: its amazing what water, simple green and armor all can do Yeah for the last few times I washed my car I washed it after driving, and I am shy of spraying water on a hot engine. BUT! Finally last week I pushed it out of the garage and gave the engine a good wash with simple green and a garden hose, came out great

Re: its amazing what water, simple green and armor all can do I borrowed the in-laws car for a weekend, and in return, I detailed this 92 Olds of theirs and they were mystified at what I was able to do with a car that had never been cleaned under the hood. So now the father-in-law and grandfather-in-law want to know my secret, which was just Simple Green and those blue shop towels and a bit of Black Magic for some extra shine!
