Default Question about locking t-tops

I was wondering if it was possible to be able to use the same key i use to unlock my door to lock/unlock t-tops? I've had a t-top conversion done and the set did come with a key but i would just rather have the simplicity of being able to use the same key if possible. Thanks!

You'd have to buy a new set of locks to have them match.....

I could've sworn i read someone who modified their t-top locks so their door key would fit.

Any locksmith should be able to re key the t-tops to match your door key, pretty easy...

I just had it done today, one of my ttops flew off so the replacement I got used a different key... pulling the lock out is easy enough just bring it to a locksmith and it should be fairly inexpensive. I was gonna do a write up on how to remove that squeak noise when you open the latch and make it much smoother to open. My latches slide in and out with no effort, its great

Still got the top that flew off? Wait, did I already ask you this ? Anyway, I buy busted tops (for like $25 shipped, don't get too excited)

My T-Top locks are the same as for my doors. This is how the car came (used).

Would this not have been from the factory?

Most people lock them because they can (and do) fly off, even at average speeds.

I lock mine because new people always go, "Hey you do have an "oh-**** handle!"

Nope never lock mine. I have had one fly off because im a dumbass though. I was taking them off and got a call, completely forgot i unlatched the drivers side and went for a short drive and it fell off sliding down the road on a right turn.

Luckily it didn't break, picked it up and put it right back on. Other than that i have never really had a problem with them.

They do rattle a bit though. Is there a fix for that?

The lock only locks the latch, it does nothing to prevent them from flying off.

I have put 80,000 miles on my WS6, and never had a loose top, or one fly off. (and they're rarely locked, only if I am leaving the windows down somewhere whre I thing somebody might steal the tops)
