I used the walbro 255, many folks here have done the same. They are quiet and do the job. I have a stock tank with a factory dual line sending unit and vet filter regulator.

The 255 external is fine, you will find that most pump failure is due to installation error.... Sufficient gauge wiring must be used and the pump should be mounted close to the tank and it never hurts to have it lower than the tank..... also take in to consideration fuel filters before the pump to prevent debris, and orifice size feeding the pump so you don't make it work harder to flow the same amount of fuel..
