Default Lt4 Hot Cam

How much more power will a lt4 hotcam kit give you in a stock lt1 with headers and a cai and a slight port job on the heads? Any ideas on hp pwer or torque?

Maybe 35hp or so to the tires. With a tune probaly good for around 330-335rwhp in a 6-speed and a little less in an Auto, just my guess.

If a 6-speed then yes and if an Auto yes assuming the stall and gearing isn't too harsh. I get 12mpg but I have a 3600 Stall, 3.73's, and a more aggressive cam.

alright yea it will be a a4 and stalled the guy i was talknig told me a should get a 2500 stall with that cam and get at least 3.23 gears but would get 3.73's but i think i have 3.23's and 3.73's would make my gas mileage even worse.

I've got the_Merv's hotcam motor sitting here, he put down 335/335 through a slipping auto, I don't think he did anything to the heads either. I can't wait to see what its going to put down through the 6 speed, crane springs instead of the hotcam springs, slp flywheel, stupid light clutch and 58mm TB. I will be ecstatic if it puts down 350rwhp.

I would just keep the 3.23's and get a good worthwhile stall like a 3200 or so which would work very well with that cam or one similar. A 2500 Stall would really be a waste IMO.

Those Heads are Port-Matched to the Intake and Gasket, the Intake is Port-Matched as well. I also had the Heads milled down, the Engine is at 11:1 Comp, it's a little nastier than Stock.

Something along those lines in size...Maybe call up Yank and tell them the setup you want to run and see what they say but I would say 3200ish would be a nice size.

you shouldn't have any problem daily driving with the 3200 stall.

Absolutely, I use to drive my car daily with the 3600 and 3.73's and I loved every second of it. Everyones opinion is different but theres really no need to be intimidated by larger stalls at all especially if a Yank or Vig who are a little tighter than most other brands. The more gear the less loose the stall will be. If you want good track times then your gonna need a decent sized stall I just feel that anything below 3000 even really 3200 is a waste of time and money. Again everyone has different opinions.

That Cam is on the smaller side, great for a DD. I had it at a higher compression and it sounded alot nastier than what it was, it suprised a few people when I told them it was just a Hot Cam. They thought it was a GM 847, or a decently sized custom grind.

With a hotcam, ported heads (about 240cfm), all bolt-ons, M6 and a 9" my 93 T/A put down over 370 RWHP.

I like hearing this, I'm getting closer. Picked up the clutch Monday.

Choppers, don't want my shorty headers? Sorry the catback is gone.
Bad timing.
