Man im either glad i work for toyota right now, being in a better position than Gm, but man i hope they dont close the doors and im out of a job. Ive heard in the last week we are having a pretty bad economic strife and could be another great depression.. I havent missed a payment on my vette yet nor will i this month or next, but what if the doors close to your job tom? I didnt see Bill Heards closing coming at all? Damm, any thoughts?

The Heard dealerships closing their doors was long time in the making.... it's not just the economy that killed them...
Here's the deal.
There was a MASSIVE judgment filed against them that they created campaigns to have warranty work done by GM on certain cars.... they got people to come in and get the work done... however they never did the work. They falesly billed GM... it was fraud.
Plus they pressured everybody that showed into trying to buy new cars when they were waiting for "warranty" work to be completed.
The multi-million dollar penalty in addition to the current market has been the main issue in them closing. There's more to it but the warranty fraud scandal is the big reason for it.
Now you know.

Yep. I feel bad for the honest folks that worked for them, but the dealership deserved to be shut down.

Bill Heard deserved to go down in flames. I worked for them a short time a few years back as a mechanic, and I know a couple of buddies who still did until the shutdown happened. POS's like that are what gives dealerships the bad name they all have.

I knew a girl that bought a convertible Geo Tracker from Bill Heard back in 95. She had it less than a week and the transmission went out. Bill Heard gave her another one just like the previous one and all she had to do was sign some papers. Fast forward a year down the road, she called to get the payoff amount and they told her that it would never be paid off because she had a lease. Bill Heard switched papers on her and told her all she had to do was sign them. It was dumb on her part not to look, but they still screwed her over. I'm not sure whatever came out of that though.
Just shows you some of the crap that they've pulled on their customers.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... Holy crap! Thats a 1 in 1,000,000 chance!!! I didnt even see it!
I heard that 2,700 people were out of jobs from what the crooked pople did there. I realy feel for the people who were tryin to make an honest living though. Now they have no job and not likely they will find one the way things are going right now.

In-laws have bought a bunch of new cars and trucks from Jerry Brown. When Heard took over they bought a new truck. They said it was the last one they would buy from there. For them to say that, It has to be screwed up.
