As for an answer... it all depends on the mods the car has, for example if it has gears or a stall all can change your answer.

30 is good for me, although with the ss3600 I have to be carefull even at that speed as I light the tires up and get loose. Damn I need some DRs.

40 punch (going into second) with a 3200 stall is still somewhat dead. i dont prefer anything that puts me back in first bc of traction issues on street tires. i absolutely love a 50-55 punch though. it hits second hard and pulls great.

A dig. A stalled automatic car will almost always beat a stick car with the same power off the line just because of the converter.

4.10 gears and a 4400 stall did the trick for me. I can't even remember what a dead spot feels like anymore :D

Yea with the 4400 stall it really doesnt matter lol. Before the stall I would hit second at like 45-50 and it pulled pretty good.

With stock 3.23 gears, I've always done "roll races" from 50-60 mph. This is from stock to what I have now.

Mine's got a stock stall and 2.73s. It hits the hardest at about 35 mph and will break the tires loose. There and below is pretty good, but between 40-50 mph I'm playing catch up with damn near anything. 55 and up is where it gets good again.

only people who cant launch go from a roll. I said the same when i had my 6 speed car to. I say just go from a dig you will have a advantage.
