View Full Version : High Octane Gas in Atlanta?

OK, I know we're all dealing with the gas shortage issues in the South. I was running very low and was forced to fill up with regular (87 octane) in order to get home one evening. My car is well modded (11.0:1 compression) and even on a conservative N2O tune, it runs like crap on regular gas. I bought the Prestone 0 to 60 Octane Booster which is good for up to 10 points (thereby raising the octane level to 88ish), however that still isn't doing the trick. Plan B -- I'd like to find 100 or 104 octane racing gas in the area to blend with what I have. If I could blend a half a tank of 88 octane with 100 octane, it should get me to around 94 octane -- that would work well with my setup.

Does anyone know where to find high octane fuel in the Atlanta area? Given that I still almost have a full tank of freaking regular in my car, I wouldn't mind driving 20 - 30 miles to find it either -- that would simply help me burn out the regular that's in my gas tank!

Try Extreme Truck and Performance
4088 Marietta Hwy
Dallas, Georgia 30157 (678)363-3050

They used to carry race fuel. I haven't been there in a few years, so not sure if they are even still open. Call the #.

Thanks for the post. I gave them a ring and they didn't have anything right now that would work well (unless I was able to order a full drum of the gas). Jodi mentioned that there's an airport around that carries 103 octane in the area. I'll look into this a little more.

Thanks,

JB

Lawrenceville Auto Parts always has race gas in stock. I think the highest unleaded they carry is 100 though.

Lawrenceville Auto Parts has Sunoco 100 unleaded for 59.99 for a 5 gallon can. 770-963-2491.
Went by Gwinnett County Airport. They have 100 low lead but would not sell it unless "they" put it in the plane.

If your low octane fuel tables are still in place (high tables not copied over to the low tables) you will be fine running low grade gas. It will just have less timing.

ProBoat in Acworth/Marietta area sells by the gallon.

Port City Racing in Buford stocks VP 109 Unleaded as well.

There is a Shell station in what use to be called Crabapple. Its right outside of Alpharetta. I got some back in May and it was 8.99 a gal, 100 octane. On the corner of SR 372 and Mayfield Rd.

Whats up Randy and Ron?
