Cool Calling it a season, more damage then i thought

well, i pulled the car apart last night to find 3 of my harland sharp rockers cracked (i cracked 2 last year as well) a nice eyebrow in one of the pistions, its the one where the gasket blew so im guessing it got water in ther and the valve touched the pistion. its not bad, i can use the pistion still no problem, but im pretty sure it bent the valve a little bit.
so im going to send the heads back to TEA, have them go threw them, fix anything that needs a fix test the springs etc.
but between that and the stupid rockers, im all done, im going to save a few bucks and get a set of t+d or jessle's for next year. not worth the time and money for me this season seeing as theres only 3 more weeks of racing up here and i plan on new rings/bearings anyway, i'll just get the motor out now and take it apart, get to ordering the parts and maybe be ready first thing in the spring. time to dig out the sleds!!!!!
i'll try to get a pic of the pistion, and im thinking of adding a 2nd stage for next year, i'll get pics together as it happens

That sucks, but ya know it's part of the game.

Sounds like those harland sharp rockers are rubbish, thanks for the heads up to avoid those things.

I know you've been turning some rpm with that motor, when ya get the bottom end apart I'd be intrested to see what the bearings look like.

yea jl, i wouldnt recomend those arms. i cracked 2 of them last year but just thought it was a fluke, they where less then 2 months old and they did nothing for me, i had to buy new ones. no biggie, but now i have 3 more cracked ones, no way am i going to spend the $$ to replace them, by the time im done i will have a $1500 set of shitty arms. lol

as for the motor, this weekend is suposed to SUCK so maybe i will yank it out tonight and tear it down. the motor still have great oil pressure and still ran on the number so im guessing it is ok, but im sure 100+ 9 and 8 second runs must have done some wear and tear. lol

we'll see.
i will try and get pics together. i used coated bearings so im curios to see how they worked and if i will use them again

i will do that. funny thing is, nothing is "bad" just a little shinny spot where the valve touched the pistion, a valve that leaked a little so it must have a little tweek, and 3 rockers that where the shaft goes in have little cracks.
i will get pics tho, i guess harnal sharps arent good for 8,000 rpm large solid rollers. lol

I've had no adjustment issues thus far. I think you'd be fine with your setup.

I haven't spun mine past 7400 rpm due to the FAST intake.....I don't forsee any issues when I change intakes and string it up tp 8000+++ though.

The geometry was great with the T&D and the Et's. But you do have to know how to measure the stands and shim them. they came with instructions but if you just throw them on they will not be right.
