Thumbs up ZR1 now available on Chevrolet.com - fully loaded price inside...

I was pricing out cars on Chevy's website a few minutes ago and realized that they just put the ZR1 up there to Build and Price. Fully optioned, including 3ZR package and $2,000 chrome ZR1 wheels:

$117,750.00 MSRP

With no money down and no trade in, that's $2,467.22 a month for 60 months at GM's 9.4% interest rate, haha. That's a lot of money, but I'd be first in line if I had it to spend.

Yeah, I was leaving out dealer markup, sales tax, fees, etc, which are going to be absolutely insane on TOP of that.

Cool Who needs to spend $120,000+ when you can just keep your C5 clean?

This is the second time this month somebody thought my C5 was brand new.

I was getting gas in my '01 Zo6 (it's in mint shape) and the guy asked me if it was new!!?

He said, man... dat Zo6 is cleeeeean! How much did it cost? $70 thousand?

I could only think to myself, damn, I'm wearing some raggedy clothes from doing dirty court ordered community service yet I'm rolling a Corvette that some guy thinks I just bought for 70 grand.

Moral of the story; Keep the paint shiny and the chrome wheels spotless. Armor All too

I just noticed that with employee pricing, you can get a base model 2008 Z06 for $62,000. DAMN, I wish I had $62,000...

So if you were given $62,000 as a gift/inheritance you'd blow the entire amount on a car?

I know you're kidding... right?

It is a badass car for sure but for just over half the price I would much rather take the Z06. Not too many mods needed and you're at stock ZR1 RWHP numbers.

well to most of us here 120k for a chevy is alot of money and even for those who have the $$$ will think its alot for a chevy but I think this car is aimed more at those buyers who are in the market for a fast super car like some type of porshe, ferrari,or lamborghini...BUT dont want to spend 200-300k on a car when they can get the same performance off the showroom floor in the zr1 for a cheaper price

With today's hurting economy, I will bet that MSRP will drop a lot over the next several months if things do not turn around dramatically. The last thing a dealer wants is several $120K cars sitting on the lot not moving.

Right now there are two dealers on the corvetteforum advertising in the C6Zo6 sections having a Couple ZR1's and one is asking (Corvette Mike) $179k

And the other seems like a bargain @ $149k

What pisses me off is that all th comments are positive ( previous threads were locked for bad reviews)

Yeah, great, can't wait to maybe get one of my own.... at $180k
