Track results TC 78
Well I finally took my car to a track. The build is in the stickies under truck manifold builds.
My car is built to drive not to drag race. It gets 25 mpg & is driven a lot. We take it on road trips and daily drive locally. For this reason I have the 2.75 rear gear ratio like zombie. I run a 3k Vig stall that does real well unless I am going up a steep grade then it will start to climb up to 3k but otherwise it will cruise 70 plus in the low 2k rpm range on a turbo 400.
The closest track is over 5 hrs away & has been closed most of the year. It's future is uncertain so I see no need to build a track car at this time. I know my setup is not optimal for ET.
I couldn't build much boost due to small spring in the WG, I have one ordered from FI.com to help that. I was running about 12-13 psi in 1st & 2nd gear while 3rd was hitting 14-15 psi. It was creeping because we put a big shim in the WG to build boost.
Here is one problem, it was falling on it's face in 3rd. It acted exacly like it does when I am tuning & it's get's too rich but it wasn't bad ~ 11.3 to 1. I am wondering if the spark could be blowing out? I have tr6's gapped about
.030 Any suggestion there would be greatly appreciated.
I am learning to do the video thing, hope it works. You will notice that I let out of it in 1st gear briefly. I can only say that it freaked me out a little because it was pulling so hard. No other excuse, I have never had that good of traction on the street. So it may have gone a little quicker. And 3rd was really bad so who knows. I was in the right lane.

Yeah John I saw the 6.1 1/8th. That would have been one hell of a pass if it would have continued the last 660 like it did the first 660.

I am almost certain it's not valve float. I have the dual patriot golds, if I remeber correctly. It's what came with the AFR heads. I have a baby cam too.

outstanding bro...damn.
especially considering the 2.7x gearing..that short is very respectable.
like the others mentioned..first half of the pass looks like it was fun as hell.
second half got lazy.
kudos

It's very nice to see that someone has duplicated my setup and results. Congrats on the time. There are now 4 rear mount f-bodies I know of in the 10.10-10.20 range. I'm only the leader temporarily for now
I love seeing someone else prove that the 2.75's can work well for a street car. They definately aren't optimum for drag racing but they still work decent.

To race again I had to sign up to a bracket race. I thought I would see the competitors lights who was running slower than me. All of sudden he left & my lights started so I basically left at idle. Oh well, that's it until next year. That was the last night at the track for the season.

I am not a rear mount, sorry if I made it sound that way. Here is my set up.
