Like a hotwire kit for a fuel pump (Racetronics)? I would say yes, if your going to buy a fuel pump you might as well just get the best kit you can and go with the hotwire. Keeps the voltage up and makes the pump run more efficient.

Not worth it to buy the kit. You can make your own with a $10 relay $10 harness 20' of 10 Guage wire and some time.

It works very good if you have a 255 in the tank. We have run 9.6 on a 255 and walbro on a 250 dry shot. I was seeing 58 at the start and 50lb at the end of the track. With the hot wire it went to 64 at idle and 58 at the end of the track.

Caspers voltege booster was also worth the money. boosts voltage above 75% throttle.

I personally, at the shop have never installed a pump in a car without the hotwire kit.
