Default Need Help...

So I took my car to get some codes figured out and there is an "Error" when there tryying to connect to my computer?!? and they can't get through, my car seems to be running alright, it's not missing or anything like that. But I get a check engine light randomly...

Anyone have any Idea's?
By the way it's a 1995 Trans AM LT1

They are probably trying to use an OBDII scanner on it. Some OBDII scanners will read OBDI cars with an OBDII ALDL port and some won't. I take it you took it to an auto parts store?

no I didn't it was a friends shop, so what do I do then? how do I get it to read?

Check your cig lighter fuse mainly, if thats good check all the other fuses.

Check the bottom right hand pin on the ALDL port for 12v power.

Since its a 95 it could be OBD II style ALDL with 12v power from the ALDL or the older OBD style ALDL wich is external power source.

im having this same problem...lol im talking to speartech tomorrow though...he will know exactly what to do...call jon with speartech, hes a great guy and is willing to help you out if needed!

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem..lol but could you just tell me on here how it goes considering I'm from Ontario,Canada lol thanks

i would assume they are connecting an OBD-II reader to your OBD-I car. some scanners can read them as previously stated. do you know about when the light comes on? is it like cruising at 50-55mph? or is it randomly? probably the EGR if i were to simply guess.
