Well first I would not say the 60E shitty by any means there are alotta really fast cars that run them every day.
Its really funny though I go to the M6 forums and I see guys complaining constantly about 1000 plus dollar clutches and get quiet a few calls from people who both already are M6 or who swapped to wanting to get transmissions to swap over or back to a 4l60e .
But to each his own I am not sure about the cost but this thread below should be usefull to you
