Default Problem when installing front pads.. quick help

hey, im doing the front pads on my 01 Ws6, and i was having trouble getting the caliper back on after i compressed the pistons back in and ive come to find out on the bracket it self the top, i want to call it a plunger thing, is stuck open, it wont turn or move in, which im guessing isnt good.. theres no grease in it, i need to compress it so i can put the caliper on correctly, any one know what its called and what could i do? thanks in advance!

Jon

Sounds like a frozen slider pin. They need to be checked every once in a while to make sure they slide in and out very easy. You can heat (use a torch) the bracket up and get the pin out. Then clean out the hole, get a new pin, lube it and install.

If you buy a used one be sure to check the pins. They should slide very easy. Its not that difficult to remove the one thats stuck, but it takes alot of heat.
