Default tach output wire

i know this has been gone over before
i have 03chevy express2500 wire harness.
do i tap right into harness for the tachometer?

also read somewhere that you can change parameters in HPtuners for tach output. to switch over to v8 output instead of usual 4cyl.

i am trying to retain my factory tachometer in my swapped 86 el camino
thanks

Do you have a pinout of your computer connectors?

I know on my 98 harness, there is a wire from the computer that is output signal to dash tach.

We had our '2000 PCM re-flashed by Wait4MePerformance to put out a tach signal compatible with a 6-cyl tach in our swap. Wait4Me also fixed up other things we needed / did not need. Works flawlessly.

It is possible to do, you do have to change the tach output with HPT or EFILive7.

The wire that you are looking for is a solid white wire in pin k of c100.
