Default Procharger Race Valve (open) question...

So, I just got in and started installing a D-1SC Twin Hi-Flow Procharger on my 1996 Z28 camaro! Well, I got the Open Race Valve with Steel and was wondering if anyone could help me out on were to put it and mount it?! My thoughts were in the exact same spot but to cut and weld everything on but don't want to jump to it and mess something up!

You can mount wherever you can find a location suitable. Bob

I put my race valve in the Y pipe that comes off the blower outlet. This way there is no supercharged air going through the small twin intercoolers untill your engine wants it.

I was looking at the picture of the twin flow set up, where did it end up getting mounted on that car?

Man, you guys have good valves. Mine is a little small thing. I haven't installed my kit yet, so should I change?

I'm sure I'll eventually go to/past 8lbs. Will this valve you guys have work on less than 8lbs also?

On a LT1 car the MAF is on the inlet side of the blower. This will not work with an open bypass valve as the MAF will measure the air being vented messing up the fuel curve.

To run an open valve, you need to put the MAF in the pressure side between the blower & intake with the bypass valve before the MAF sensor.

Thank you guys for all the help and ideas! I got it mounted up and the whole procharger on! Now just need to get it tuned, and that leads to another problem! Anyone know a good place to go in Colorado for Lt1 Tuning?!

quick Q. would the valve (open) be louder at idle / low rpm cruise than the closed one? i happen to like that loud whine noise it makes and would love to make it louder.

I live in park city UT and we have no tuners in the area either. I've searched for a tuner and las vegas is the closest for me. I looked for ones in colorado too.. not much luck. I'm going to trailor my car down after i get my dual fuel pumps put in. If you want I can send you a pm tomorow with the name's and #'s of the two shops I found... Its in my office at work.

The bypass valve is always open untill you go wide open throttle. When the throttle plate closes the supercharged air has to go some where and thats what the bypass is for. If you have a closed bypass you would blow a hose, crack the plenium ect... bad things.

i guess i was reading it wrong but when i read open or closed i was thinking in terms of either open to atmosphere or closed (ie recirculate like the stock setup)..
