its possible i just had a bunch of work and resealing and the mechanic had the waterpump off 3 times and the thermastat but last night i drove it for 30miles possibly overhheating. what are the odds of heat soak to the heads? or warping them?

Check to see if the water pump is leaking out of the weep hole. It's there to show you if the water pump bearings are failing. You could also burp the coolant system to try and check for air pockets. The best thing you could do is start doing all of the work yourself so you don't have to worry about other people ******* up your stuff and save a lot of money.
