What engine would you like in your Firebird?
Just a street type engine--say 20K total.
I'd go for an 5.7L LT5 DOHC from the 90-95 ZR1. Get it massaged by Lingenfelter.
For a 3rd gen V6 Bird---a 304HP DI DOHC V6 would be cool too.
How about you?

My wants are very simple and wouldn't cost more than $8K to build (that's being very very generous)
6.2L punched slightly more with the L92 heads, bigger valves, Silverado SS' cam and the supercharger off the CTS-V's LS3 (90% sure it'll mate to those heads' ports).
All but the supercharger can be had for very cheap, and it'd make quite the power! Should still be very streetable and yet easily hand people their asses if challenged
I'd also like to use the Baby LT1 crank and rods in a LT1 to make a 302 and make it a 8.5K rpm revving monster Which should be quite doable considering the de-stroke and that quite a few can do 7.5K on a 383! Obviously I'd need an aftermarket computer, or do the GEN III computer swap.

Anyways off topic!
638 BBC, only because it's 66cid bigger than the 572! That and it has 900hp "stock", as in not top of the line heads and a fairly mild cam!! (Even though it's like $18K turn key heh, fricken World and their motors!)
See above and 638 Ramjet! Cuz I actually DO really like that Ramjet setup!! It would need quite the upgrade though to feed that 900hp :\ Ugh imagine the fricken torque from it

exactly the same set up of mine but with little more cubic inch
ls3 416cid with nitrous force induction will be my choice for a great power and dd drive and you can enjoy it and run it every day if you want
you can get more power with the LS7 427cid but not more fun as the 416cid without any issues with the valvle train
most of the camed c6 z6s here faced alot of problems with they valve trains , and that's because they able to shift at 7000RPM
that's why the ls7 comes with dry sump oiling system .
