Place to buy plugs and wires local or online. Im not crazy about paying almost $7 a plug at autozone. Im looking to get ac delco platinum and msd pro conductors. Any help would be greatful, thanks

Screw the platnium junk and get some autloites. 104's work well with stock or close to stock cars. And wires are all preference, I used to run taylors, now I use MSD's.

Autolites are like $1.35 a plug, get those and you can probly buy your wires at a local speed shop. Or just hit up summitracing.

You can get Autolites or NGK Tr-55s Local pretty much anywhere, or you could grab some AC Delco stock replacement plugs for pretty cheap also (well, cheaper than $7 a plug).

I would use the NGKs or AC Delcos, and for wires I would run the MSDs or Taylors.

yes i know im going ac delco and msd, but what im trying to get at is where do you guys go for yours? either a local kind of auto store or online. Im in chicago so we have alot of places im just not sure WHERE to go thanks

Just go to the Dealer for the Delcos, and the wires can be had almost anywhere. I buy my wires from Thunderracing.com usually.

Napa for my NGK plugs. And Summit for the MSD wires.

For plugs go to Walmart and buy Autolite AP605's.

Don't skimp on wires. Buy MSD or Accell from Jegs, etc.

Giz, I respect your input on things, so may I ask why you suggest those plugs for a stock car over TR-55s? Thanks


As for where to buy all this stuff, O'Reilly's, Bumper-to-Bumper, Autozone, NAPA should all carry the plugs or be able to order them. Problem is that the factory plug is a platinum, so they ARE going to be expensive, and I don't know what the standard cross over is. If it's an R45LTS or what :\

41-943s to be exact formula. its nice to work at a parts store and have the ability to look stuff up like that whenever, haha. and formula, you forgot to mention CARQUEST in your list! my dad owns a carquest and that's where i work. respect the red and blue! lol

Well I know thats the factory part number for the Delco's which are Platinums and $$$ ($4/ea at minimum). I was referring to the old part numbers which would be a normal resistor plug like TR-55. I guess you could cross references the TR-55 to Delco.

i get my plugs from a local speedshop that add alotta overhead..cant find them anywhere else. the wires are best to get from summit..dont get much cheaper than them..hmm..i wonder if they sell ngk tr7's...

Woodro Josey turned me on to them a few years back. They work really well and are pretty cheap from Walmart.
