Default Strut bolt Thread size?

Anyone know what the strut bolt thread size it?

I just noticed that the guy that "repaired" the suspension in the front of my car left out one of the strut torx nuts under the master cylinder.

I went to autozone and got the closest thing I could to matching, it was a m10 x 1.5 thread size yet this bolt wasn't going in correctly each time I tried.
Anyone know what my options are instead of having to go to a chevy dealership?

First thing i would try is take a bolt out of the pass side and try it. YOu may have bought the right size, but your mechanic could have left it out for a few reasons.

1. He lost it
2. He left it out cause it's such a pain in the *** with the MC still in place
3. He left it out because the holes didn't line up.
4. He's a lazy ***

Could be a combination of those...

If the bolt from the pass side fits, you need to buy a different replacement bolt
If it doesn't, you now have a good idea why it's "missing", and will have to do some tweaking. I had a bit of trouble getting than one to line up when i changed mine out a few weeks ago.

If it does go in OK, then just leave that hex head bolt there and replace the one on the pass side with another hex head. There's no reason for those 2 under the MC to be torx. I swapped mine out for ease of maintenance.

PM if you need help aligning those holes.......good luck!
