Default fuel economy

ok so since i had some problems with my car it seems like to me its running too rich, im averaging 14mpg on the dic , and dont get me wrong im a spirited driver, but it was usually closer to 16 or 17 as i remember it. The dealership did replace the maf sensor and fuel pressure sensor. anyone else have a normal car and getting that kind of shitty fuel economy? ive been using 93 too.

Could just be winter gas. I know I was getting around 18mpg in mine (almost all city) and now the DIC shows 16.5. With gas being 1.35 a gallon here I have been driving a little more spirited then normal as well so thats my other factor.

I'm currently averaging 21.x-22 MPG on my tank right now, cruising on the highway and heavy footed city driving. When I do more 50/50 city/hwy I'm getting 19-20 mpg average. If Im really just on the throttle hard all the time I average 16-17 mpg. You guys must do just about all city driving.

Yea my driving consists of 30 mph with freakin stop signs or traffic lights every few blocks. Outside of weekend beach trips during the summer, I do virtually no highway driving.

Yea, I've seen 9mpg once or twice last winter, ouch! And that's actual calculation. If I end up seeing that on the DIC that will be back since the DIC usually shows a bit higher.

I'm usually in the 12-17 range. Sucks but I enjoy the car.

I average 22 overall... there is a certain way to drive these cars. A very light foot will get you to better economy...Not that anyone didn't already know this...But its so true. I guess due to the cars deceptive nature one would think they are not holding speed... You do not have to give alot of throttle to hold speed. Actually you only have to barely rest your foot on the pedal. In Stop and go slow starts are the way to go then ramping up to speed shortly after.

I also average around 22 in mixed driving, but always get impressive numbers on the highway. 37mpg many times going from Denver to Colorado Springs. And that's going over Monument Hill (7500 feet above seal level) and with 85 octane (mountain gas). Of course I'm driving at most 65mph, barely touching the throttle at all, and just me in the car!

My gas milage varies..I used to be able to get about 21-22 avg, but lately I'm around 18-19avg. I think the reasons are:

1) My cars runs for 10 mins in the driveway monday thru friday
2) Now that gas is cheaper I am pushing the pedal a little more.

I've been getting 13.5 city mileage for several months... but over the holidays I got several tanks of 24-25 hwy MPG with 5 people in the car plus a trunk loaded FULL of Christmas junk... My new SSC rear springs were struggling!

On a 400 mile trip from norcal to socal this new years week I averaged 25.7 MPG with the cruise set at 80, including going up the grapevine (only ~4500ft) with the weather in the mid 40's. Not bad I thought. I think it would've been muchhh better had I had the patience to do 65 the whole way....yeahhh right, i was already frustrated only doin 80.
