It's a salvage title man. That thing was busted up I'm sure your car hasn't been mangled like that one. It's always better to have that piece of mind, I paid 14,750 for mine with 38,000 on it and it's got a spotless carfax with new tires and brakes. That isn't that good of a deal.

Sorry to jack the thread, but i new to this car and this site, was a cobalt owner. Where are the best places to find performance parts for our cars? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again. Caveat Emptor on that car Big Al!!! That bad boy was tore up Somebody who doesn't know any better will spend 1000 dollars less than a decent car and get a pieced together ride

just thought i'd chime in...
i really like that seller. i bought my (salvage-titled) 06 SS last year with 14,700 miles for $12k even, and i've had zero issues with it (except for the stuff you normally see - end links and ISS which my dealer covered for me).
i had an issue where they had replaced one polished aluminum wheel with a standard aluminum, i emailed him and they sent the correct one right out and didn't even want the extra one back.
salvaged cars are not necessarily bad, you just have to research them, ask questions, and know what you're getting into.
also note that different states have different regulations on what is a "total-loss".
in maryland, for example, it must cost at least the retail value of the car to repair. in california, it's 50%. just food for thought
