My SSC Springs Experience

My SSC Springs Experience
Hello. I have an 06GXP and I wanted a more aggressive, lower stance for my car. I tried out the SSC springs this past weekend. I installed them myself and everything fit like it was supposed to. But they were not for me. On the GP, the rear springs make the car look t0o low, in my opinion. The fronts looked great and gave the car much better handling. But I drive a lot and have a lot of miles on my car, so the ride was not as good as what I was hoping for. Not bad, but more bumpy than I liked. I am not saying anything bad about the SSC springs. I have read several threads on here and at ClubGP and most people seem to like them and they are a quality product. They just were not for me.
I have my springs for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested. Here is the link: https://ls1tech.com/forums/non-lsx-p...l#post10982127

Did you take before and after pics? I have already run into a problem getting my 06 GXP aligned with the stock springs, I can only imagine the headaches I would go through if the car was lowered.

This may be a dumb question as a monte is a W-body, but are these springs the exact same springs I would be buying from SSC for my mont, or is there a difference between monte ssc springs and grand prix ssc spring?
If there is no difference, I may have to purchase these!

The SSC springs for the Grand Prix are the same as for the Monte Carlo. I am not certain that they are the same for the Impala. By the way, mine are still for sale. $150 shipped.
As for alignment, in the short time I had them on my car, I did get an alignment. There was absolutely no problem getting the car aligned. No need for camber kits. The camber was still perfect (and on the Grand Prix GXP camber is not adjustable). But the toe was not correct and had to be re-adjusted back into spec.
By the way Spade, what problems are you having getting your GXP aligned with the stock springs?

Normally when i lower a car the camber is at the very least a half of a degree more negative than before the drop. Some times it is up to a degree and a half.
But i just like to have a fully adjustable suspension.
