Default Info on 4T65E-HD Shift Kit

So been looking at doing some tranny work to my 06 GXP in the coming month and was looking at installing a shift kit with Royal Purple Max ATF. First question is any positive feedback (short and longterm feedback) on Intense, ZZP, or Trans-Go Shift kits for the 4T56E-HD that some of you guys have installed?

I am using the ZZP kit, its cheap, but the only thing I haved noticed and its been in for 3000 miles now, is the down shifts are much more crisp. But that's it, I can't tell if the upshifts are any different. I'll be honest, this kit really isn't worth the $30 I paid for it, you can go to Ace Hardware and buy the same shimms for like $2.50. The other reason I bought their kit was for the filter, that's prolly what the other $28 was for! Get the Trans-Go kit a filter and use the stock Dexron fluid.

A guy on another forum just installed the intense shift kit. He says on downshifts it is quick and is a totally different animal and on upshift, there not hard but alot quicker and nicer. Really improved his car for sure. He said it is worth the money for sure. You pay a little more for that kit but you get a lot more. That is the one I'm going to put in my car in the next couple months. ZZP shift kit is cheaper but you don't get as much. Trans Go I think that kit is for if your going to rebuild it. I say go for Intense for sure.

Default shift kit

Talked to Trans-GO and it is NOT a performance kit but more of an upgrade.

I've kinda heard the same about Intense-that some people have had good things to say about them and yet I've heard people say they've had terrible outcomes using their aftermarket products. Think I'll need to find some more reviews out there on their shift kit before I screw my tranny up. So far sounds like ZZP is out doesn't sound like its worth spending the time to install it. Trans-go also need to find more info on them but from what I've heard that its for more of a rebuild than an upgrade, probably just need to call them and ask huh?

last time i look the the royal purple max isnt made/compatiable with the Dexon 6, I was thinking of going with TranSynd, which is a syn castrol makes for allison trans. This is a Actual ALLSION product, not just a product u can buy most place. I need to doulbe check but it should be compatible, ITS not cheap though

Usually the case, most things that are worth it aren't cheap!

I use a combination of the Intense Shift kit and the ZZP shift kit. I use the springs from the Intense kit and the shims from the ZZP kit. Works great.

I've had the ZZP kit installed for ~3 months and to be honest I had a hard time telling a difference on the up or down shift firmness. It does seem to react more quickly though on the downshifts.

Anyone know anything about it? Good or bad?

I saw the Thrasher also, but the Intense looks good also. I might have to look more into it, as I'm starting to want a shift kit.
