Anyone elses' cowl look like this? (GXP)
08 GXP 24K miles
I was changing my cabin filter today because my A/C and vent blower smelled like **** and my cabin filter was filthy as hell! I've seen cars with 100K miles with cleaner filters.
I noticed this before but never put any thought into it....Does anyone else's GXP look like this?

I don't like that. There's a deflector shield on top of the cabin filter, but I'm willing to bet that filter gets wet every time it rains, which would explain the musty moose **** smell that I get. There were even little twigs and tree leaf particulate and all sorts of weird **** in between the pleats of the old filter.

Instructions on how to replace filter?
-pop hood
-pull wiper fluid lines from little tabs on cowl on passenger side
-use small flathead to pop up the 2 push tabs
-pull down toward engine and then pull up away from engine to move cowl. Rest it on the windshield. (it's in 2 pieces, driver side & passenger side, just remove passenger side) It won't come completely off because there is weather stripping attached inside the passenger side door.
-Deflector shield will be exposed, remove it by pulling it toward the engine and up
-remove & replace cabin filter
-reassemble
Wow I made that sound complicated. It's not, it takes about 3 minutes.

Just the nature of the beast on that one. Had a 2004 GP GT before my GXP and my 2004 looked the same as my GXP's right now. Would have thought that GM would have addressed the issue but guess it wasn't a priority for them

Just replaced my filter today, man was it dirty after 2 years it was due for a change.
One thing to note, on my 06 GXP even with the door open if you shut the car off while the wipers are in the up position, they will go back down so I did mine with the wipers down and it was no problem, 4 minute job max.
