Throttle Body

Throttle Body
I have an 07 Impala SS. It currently has a NOS Sniper Wet Kit and I am using a 125 shot, a FJO controller, magnaflow exhaust, K & N Air Filter, and a custom tune from a local guy who owns a speedshop. I found a throttle body on BBK's website and they make an 80mm throttle body for a 5.3L 2006 Silverado. Does anyone know if this is something that would also work with the 5.3 in the Impala or do they have a different set up?

Nope it won't work. The 8pin dbw is different between cars and trucks. Could try making a harness up but will the thing even bolt up to our intake manifold. I think those are 3 bolt ls6 style. You can look into having your stock one ported or getting a spacer is another option.

Thanks. I'll just order that Airaid throttle body spacer. I really wish they made more parts for these vehicles. I am hoping to bring it to the track pretty quick here and was hoping to hit high 12s, but we'll see.

What tires are you running?

For tires right now I am running on Eagle F1s, but will be purchasing some better tires here at the end of the month to put on when I make it to the track. I figure I should make it out to the track early - mid June. If I don't hit a high 12 I'll just do some more modifications. Ideally I would like to get the turbo kit and upgraded transmission, but I don't have that much money to drop into my car right now. Maybe a few years down the road.
Dry shots scare me for the fact of running lean. I have a wet shot. A 100 shot really brings the motor to life. There are always the risks associated with nitrous, but I would definitely recommend it.
