LOL no it will smoke the first few times you drive it and get it hot. You will smell it for ahwile after hard or long runs. Then after that you'll forget it is ever ther. I think the smoke is from the Smaller particles that burn off as the material sets together under the heat.

i used intake clamps to secure it because i think those metal zip tie things are junk and break over time, ive never had good luck with them on my camaro so i didnt use them on the monte, it definetly took the temps way down but the pipes still hot i would ony recomend doing a single layer of the wrap no more for the reason it traps heat in and over time the more heat you trap in the more likely you can damage the crossover pipe or warp it, or like in winter time going from hot to cold can and may cause warping of the pipe so as i have cautioned only do a single wrap dont go crazy with the wrapping yes it may be cool to hold the pipe and not get burned ,but you will damage that pipe overtime if you wrap it litely you will be okay and you wont damage the pipe and will still cut down heat and still drop intake temps

I wrappped over it all. I used some heavy duty zip ties. I did this over a month ago they are still working. Gonna get some worm clamps to replace them eventually. The fact is this stuff works or zip ties wouldnt hold it. ANd i know its odd/retarded, but i had free wrap lots of 100# plus test industrial ties laying around. We actually did this on a friends Disel All of them held for the longest time except the first two ties that what were too close to the UNwrapped manifold and turbo.

the rolls are anywhere from 30-50 dollars. Might as well. every little bit helps in keeping underhood temps down.

ON the front i went down probally 3 more inches, right to where the bend is over to the front exhaust manifold. Then on the back basically as far as i could reach. The back was a bitch. There isnt much room. I only did one layer but i tried to over-lap it really good.
