Default system in spare well

Im looking for info on putting my sub and amp in a smaller box in my spare tire well. i recently got a flat and to my dismay i found out all i had was a air compressor and some tire sealent. Is there anything directly below me that id possibly screw into aka the gas tank or some wiring/harness?

theres nothing underthere, you should be fine. Just look before you drill any holes.

Thnks. Im hoping i can mount the amp right to the metal instead of having to mount it to the side of the sub box.

Why would you mount a system down there? There's plenty of room for a box that goes into the back of the trunk with a top mounted amp? I have a 12" deep custom box I built that fits perfectly, no need to tear into the spare area....

I agree, you should have more than enough room. Plus if you put your system in the spare tire area then you kinda kill the use of your trunk.

Here's a pic of mine and I still have plenty of room for $200+ of grocerys!

Little futher back/no sub

I happen to live in the car theft and B&E capital of canada. ive owned my car less then 6 months its been broken into twice and attempted to be stolen once. only reason my sub wasnt yanked is i have torx screws and i have 2 bags of sand sitting in my sub box. I was thinking of hiding it under my carpet in the spare tire hold. then just bolting it down then screwing the carpet and wood to the trunk. Where i work i park in some really ghetto *** areas. maybe in the dark they wont notice the small screws.

I didn't know Canada had ghetto areas. Do they break in with axes and cover their faces with plaid jackets?

Just messin' with ya!

Sigma - I like your idea! If I put a big sub box in my truck, then I can't use the fold down feature of my backseats which I use quite often. It's perfect for my kayak. I thought about creating custom boxes for the little cubbys at the corners of the trunk, but the spare tire hole is much bigger. Good idea!
