New car, need advice!!!
I traded my Trans Am a few months ago for a 2006 Grand Prix GXP. I love the car, great for trips with the new wifey. It's not as flashy or quick, and this is what I am wanting to change.
I am wanting to know of some appearance mods, and some quick hp/tq mods. This thing is a dog in second gear and that needs to change. I like the wheels, but the front ones are a little chiped.
Any of your opinions help. Here is a quick shot I snapped when I first got it. There with my phone so not great. I also know that there is a ford tag up front, it's the dealer ship I got it from.
Thanks, Justin Smallen
Oh yeah, the last one is how i was thinking of doing my wheels...don't worry its just black tape. lol

Mine ARE black But mine aren't real Alcoas like yours.
Tune and cutout really help second gear, third is still a little slow.
A good tune runs second to ~101 in Auto, instead on 90.

great color used to have a white 04gpgt great color easy to keep clean believe it or not. I have a shadow gray metaillac grand prix gxp great car not sure about the color anymore :/ . a tune will wake up this car , cai, mangnaflow, and get donromes brackets and bars. they help the handling of this car quite a bit. ssc sells lowering springs as well which help with the appearance and handling!! ITS TWO FOR ONE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stuff like that. get some led tails those are kickass.

LS6 valve springs (yellow) and 1.8:1 roller rockers. Then get a tune. Raise your shift points to 6100-6200 and remove or limit the torque management, also have the line pressure raised so your shifts won't be so boring. Definitely get dyno tuned and avoid mail order tunes. see whats going on before you change things. with those mods you should be aound 275hp at the wheels. you can get the inferno hood, bumper and wing, for looks. from pfyc. also do everything possible to lower your engines iat temps these cars get ridiculously hot and the heat kills power everywhere, so for starters you can heat wrap your crossover pipe, build a maf heat shield and wrap your intake piping with rubber tape, and then with reflective foil tape. a lot people have relocated there iat sensors but i prefere to leave it where it's at. and not cheat the computer. Pull the weather striping from your cowl and also use the rest of you header heat wrap to cover the metal heater hose pipes next to the fuel line and throttle body. 2nd gear will never feel all that impressive do to our lazzy gear ratio 2.93:1 you will find that you will just be shifting into 3rd just before 100 or a little after.

air intakes and exhaust don't really wake these engines up to much if you really wanna do exhuast then i would recomend using a qtp cut out just before the split at the rear and using a 3" down pipe with the stock exhaust from the cat back the cut out will give you a lot more sound and a little more top end when opened.

Also, welcome! I love the color. It is the same as mine. I am doing the same as you though. Except I already have Magnaflow cat-back. I'm just looking for my next purchase. I'm thinking some exhaust wrap, a CAI, Hogan 3" Catted downpipe and then a tune.
Good luck to you.
