battery dead but why???
came home one night, locked up my car, lights on auto, no aftermarket stereo or any auxiliary anything in the car . came out in the morning and it wouldnt unlock not even with the key so i got a wire hanger and unlocked it and put the key in and nothing. took multimeter and 2v at the battery. jump started it and got it running but the alternator is whining. i have noticed the alternator whine a little bit before i think. i know its hard on the alternator to run a low powered battery. but why would it just go dead overnight?? any ideas will be greatly appreciated. thanks Levi

2 volts is a complete failure of multiple cells. You are beating the living hell out of your alternator trying to charge it. Go get a new battery and then start checking the electrical system to see if there was a cause besides just a bad/junk battery.

is there a difference between optima red top 75-25 ...and a 35?? they only have the 75-25 in stock within a 60 mile radius and i cant wait till tuesday for a battery.. i believe the only difference in them are the 75-25 has side and top terminals.. will that make it even more difficult to put in??

Batteries are impossible to find for this car.
I had a bad cell; dealer didn't want to replace under warranty. They quoted me $179.98 ($139.99 for the battery and $39.99 to install). Eff that and them.
Autozone, Advance Discount Auto Parts, and Walmart ("N/A" in their catalog) are all a no go (at least for me).
Pep Boys had a Bosch one (and yes, only one in the greater Orlando area) for $84.99.
I suggest you pay the $15 odd to have them install it (it will take them a while), unless you don't mind installing it yourself.
Good luck!
