I emailed them directly when I was pondering this cam, and even they couldnt answer that question! Basically said they had zero experience with our engines and didnt know if the cam would work or not. The more I think it over, I'm just gonna scrap the dod when it's cam time anyhow. I'll sacrifice power for gas mileage beings I only have to drive ~5 miles to work.

Joe.

I ditched DoD, and only lost an mpg or so. I think it's better for the engine, too.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. As far as I know, there are two general types of LSx cams...DoD and non-DoD. Physically, it should fit and run with no problems.

Of course, don't take my word for it. Do more research. Talk to some of the sponsors here about compatibility of cams.

You will need a custom tune, I would have to use a smaller cam than what we currently offer because you don't have headers. And, I will only sell it with the valvetrain, it would cost $750 plus shipping for everything, let me know.

I too got rid of DOD... I really didn't see a purpose for it... If I wanted gas mileage I would have bought a Cobalt... Even still... with spirited driving on the Highway I average between 23-26 mpg...

Damn, those guys are in my hometown! I'll definitely have to swing the GXP through there. Too bad I won't be back from Iraq until May...

I think he's saying it's pointless to add a big cam with the stock manifolds. He's right though, the cam will just be kicking in as the manifolds start to choke.

also remember that ur comparing a 6.0 liter engine to a much smaller 5.3 liter, u don't need as big of a cam to begin with... i wouldn't go over 210-215 duration with a 5.3, any more and the HP peak will be way over 6000, where the trans won't like being...
