Did you see the spots under the hood near the battery? You can also use those.
I learned that after letting my car sit for 3 weeks, still had a little juice left to call onstar though

The positive thats by the fuse box and for the negative I use the chassis ground near the battery. Could use an engine piece like the alternator bracket for ground too.
