Default Converter issue... trans on its way out... surprise surprise...

Ive been noticing that all my car wants to do is go into lockup... ALWAYS... and when it does, it kicks in pretty hard and it is constantly hunting for lockup on the highway... in and out in and out... its very annoying... anyone else have strange converter issues ??

I have the same issue. Its gay but what can ya do. Just rebuild it.

Mine's been doing it since my tune. My hypothesis is that the increased line pressure is causing fluid to leak by the TCC apply valve, which releases then grabs, releases, grabs, etc etc etc.

A Diablew tune from Lew fixed that problem in my car.

A hunting converter can also be caused by a leaking valve body, which is common on the 4T65's.

We thought tune at first, but we set all the TCM functions back to stock and it still did it. I think my line pressure caused a leak in there.
