Default Do GXPs eat through auto transmission fluid?

I was checking all my fluids the other day, and was having difficulty getting a very accurate reading on the automatic transmission dipstick. Just like the owner's manual says, I waited to check it when the temperature hit 180 degrees with the car still running, and it appeared low, but was very hard to tell. I dipped it back in multiple times and it still came back low looking.

I've only had the car a year, but is this common?

There's no leak.

Did it appear or smell burnt?

No, it's pink, clear, and the smell was fine.

Had you ever checked it before? It may have been low from the last change.

Also, have you added a trans cooler?

A transmission is a sealed device. You shouldn't be losing any fluid without seeing a leak.

Well, I've checked it in the past, but never how it is supposed to be checked--with the engine running and at operating temperature.

No trans cooler, the car is 100% original with no mods.

It's possible it's just low and has always been a little low... I'll check it next week if I drive around enough to get it to 200 degrees and check it again. The owner's manual says 180, but 200 is more typical of this car.

unless you have lost more fluid since you last checked it, you are good to go.
