Default Raced a LS1

If there were any doubts how a bolt-on LS1 does against a lightly modded LS4:

What was the roll speed and mods on the 'Bird? 'Cause I've held my own against stock/lightly modded LS1s. Just curious as to what made that one leave you like it was nothing.

First was a dig, second was a 60. Just a full bolt on car.

Wow, I need to get my eyes rechecked... Thought the first was a roll, lol. I dunno about the MCSSes but the GXPs are kinda dead at 60, I'm not a fan of second gear runs either. 35-40 in first always gets me a good jump.

Nice race though, I need to come to AL, lol.

if the Ls1 is in good shape and is a FULL bolt on then you are running a high-mid 12 second car with a good driver.. not a bad death.

It's a good thing he hit his bakes or he would have disappeared completely!

I've owned two LS1s..One was a bolt-on A4 with the original LS6 cam, and the other was full-on heads/cam/long-tubes M6 car. The 250 HP or so we LS4s make at the wheels is nothing compared to the easy 350-400 RWHP you can make with an LS1 and about a grand in mods.

I went 12.2 @ 112 in my Camaro when it was just bolt-ons. I think I was making 330 rwhp.

Get some gears and a catless downpipe. It will be a different story...

You should have drove your car manually on the roll race. If you are doing 60 you can be in second. The car will pull till about 90 in second. There wasn't much you could do with the dig race unless you start off in first and manually shift it. Even then I think it would have been the same result. I bet it was fun though.

You should run an LS1 mod for mod and see what happens.
