Default Another trip to the track UPDATE!!!!

Well like the titles says yesterday night I went to the local track (edinburg international racetrack) I was hoping for another 13.9 time but wasnt succesful.
Weather was nice it was in the 50s and dry.

1st run w/street tires
r/t .252
60' 2.13
1/4 mile 14.11 @98.47mph

2nd run w/slicks
r/t .285
60'2.10
1/4 mile 14.01@ 98.99 mph

3rd run w/slicks
r/t .022
60'2.18
1/4 mile 14.10 @ 98.84 mph

It's the 60' times. 2.00 or less is what to shoot for. He is already a 13 second car once the launch is corrected. Nice work, non-the less. What was the outside temps like? How much gas was in the car? Those two also factor into the times.

Yeah I definitely need to work on my launch. I had 1/4 of a tank of gas same as when I hit the 13.9 the last time I went to the track only difference was that temp was in low 40s .

I would have thought your 60' time would have been like 1.8 with the slicks.

Damn...I'm running 2.0s with sumitomos...

And you'll see a HUGE improvement with a catless DP.

like you said work on your launch and you should easily have 13 second time slips

What is your elevation? When I ran my GXP in El Paso, I couldn't break 15 seconds to save my life. 3700ft above sea level is a bitch.

so you cut a better 60 foot on street tires than on run #3 with slicks? makes no sense.

You are stalling the converter off the line, right?

What exactly do you do on a launch, just put the pedal to the floor?? I have never raced before but I plan on going to the track in May or June

Ive only managed to hit a 13.9 sec 1/4 mile ONCE ever in my car always the 14.0 14.1 regardless of what rubber. I need a driver mod!! HAHA

Hey I used to live in Weslaco Tx... And I raced at that track last time I visited in December and I ran a 13.8 @ 99mph with just a muffler delete wit my GXP

You're getting better with those times you posted...keep at it practicing that launch and cutting your 60' time.
