Default exhaust

ok so im getting ready to buy my mufflers for my exhaust and i need to get your guys opinon on a set up. on which one i will get the most gain. should i go 3in stright off my downpipe to the y then split off to 2 1/2 into the mufflers. should i do all 3in. or should i do 2 1/2 in from the down pipe all the way through.

2.5" would probably be the best. 3" all the way back might be too much.

ok thats what i was thinking. i have been looking though and all of the magnaflow exhaust tips only have a inlet of 2.25 not 2.50 so should i go with 2.25?

i did 3" from the down pipe and dual 2 1/2" after the split into spintech mufflers i used some dual ss tips. the sound is awsome. picked up power after 4500 but lost power below

i used 2 1/2 all the way to the cherry bomb vortex mufflers and reused the stock tips but pushed them out about 3-4 inches sounds awsome not crazy loud but noticable with muscle i get compliments from everyone that heres it o and i deleted the resonator

Our factory rear manifold is 2 1/2" so 3" isn't really all that necessary but it does help.

interesting....those thorley headers have a 3" outlet though right?

Yep you could run 3 from the headers back. The hogan downpipe goes down to 2.5 where it hooks to the cat back. Don't know about the stocker.

The stock rear manifold outlet/down pipe exit is only 2 1/2". Headers have a 3" outlet.
