Default Remote start not working! 08 ISS

I tried both key fobs and it doesn't work. I hear the fuel pump turn on and then some sounds from the front of the car, like relays are opening but it does not start! Anyone had this issue?

Do you have a "check engine light" on? If it is then your remote start wont work.

In fact, yes, yes I do. That's strange.
I put the downpipe on with cutout and I keep getting the P0420 code I think, how is this fixed?

Wow that's really great, I never thought it would disable remote start. That has me relieved now that I don't have to go to the dealer and sit there for 10 hours.

Is your cutout installed on the DP?? Along with the Hogan, this will also set off the 420

yes it is, but I keep it closed most of the time. I cleared the code today and it came back with in 5 minutes of it being cleared with the cutout closed.

On my 2002 MCSS, I bought an 02 sim to clear the code. It took off the CEL, but IDK if it actually cleared the code or not. I think there was a thread not too long ago about something like this. I think they made it themselves??

Yep, I figured that out when I had a bad spark plug and the car was idleing funny then it wouldn't remote start. Dealership told me that anytime the CEL comes on, then the remote start "deactivates".

If you have a catted downpipe, the mechanical simulator could work. When I had a catted DP with the mechanical simulator the CEL stayed off for a while - 700-1000 miles.
