Default New guy here

Hello, first time poster, long time lurker. Well, maybe a month or two now. We traded in our Lincoln LS (V8) for this '08 GXP a couple months ago.
So far I'm pretty happy with it, other than paint chips, swirls, etc., and occasionally the fact that its wrong wheel drive.
I'm in southeast Missouri, an engineer in aerospace manufacturing. Would love to spend all my money on mods, but my 3 kids tend to take it all, lol.

Always been a Pontiac lover. First car was an '84 firebird, it pretty much consumed all of my time and money for a few years. More recently was a '97 GP GTP Loved loved that car, but 2 doors, and the kids thing again... went to '05 Grand Am GT(ram air, the most problem free car I have ever owned). A brief visit on the ford side (lincoln) sent us running back!
Anyway, my other ride is an '07 honda VFR that, even with kids, I've managed to put 11,000 miles on in two years.

a few pics...

Time for some mods! STB's, K&N drop in filter and a cut out just before the rear split. Simple cheap mods.

Well, If I can convince the wifey, I will probably start with the minimally invasive intake stuff. I would like to progress into HP Tuners. I am a tinkerer, so I would really love to have complete control, rather than the simpler handheld jobs. There are no dyno's close here that I know of, so I am pretty much on my own.
Ultimately, a turbo would be awesome. Unfortunately, its still under warranty (lol), and by the way things are sounding, I may need to use it in the next couple years.
The 'bird was in great shape by the time I got rid of it, even won an award at a poncho car show. Sadly, I sold it to a punk who destroyed it in short order!

Thanks guys!
BTW, it has 255's front and rear, and when I bought it the front and rear wheels were switched, haha. I knew something looked funky, but didn't figure it out till I got on here.

interesting note (and coincidence), My bike has a valvetrain that works pretty much the same way as the LS4. It runs on 2 valves per cylinder (v4) until about 6500 rpm, then the rest of the lifters are pressurized via solenoid, and its 4 per cylinder from there. They call it VTEC, but technically I would say it is not.
VFR's have proven to be very reliable, so I really don't have any concerns about the DoD failing. I only say this cause I've read alot of posts where people are scared of the concept.

i think its more of people dont like DOD, whether its becouse of the exhaust note, in town gas mileage, also it seems like it makes my TC lock and unlock more. I am getting my DOD tuned out. Also people want to run different valve train (non DOD) for better performance. IMO
