Hello fellow LS4 owners! I've been lurking here for a few weeks and decided to finally come out of the shadows. I'm 26 and I bought my black 2006 Monte Carlo SS with 54,000 miles back in October 2009 and only drove it about a month before I garaged it for the winter. Been driving it for the last couple months because I couldn't wait any longer to get it out of hibernation haha.

The only performance mod I've done so far is a K&N CAI. Next I want to order some Flowmaster mufflers for a deeper sound and a Predator tuner with a custom tune from Lew. My Dad owns a 2004 GTO and just had a custom Lew tune and he loves it. Hopefully in the near future I can do some serious mods like an intake swap, headers, full exhaust etc.

I also replaced the stock wheels (because the previous owner scratched the **** out of them) with 20'' Legacy LG-12's and wrapped those in Nexen N7000 255/35/ZR20. And since the wheel is so open now, I want to buy some drilled/slotted rotors and have the calipers powder coated. I just ordered some low/fog HID's from ddmtuning. Next up is tinting the windows which I think would compliment the black paint and black inserts on the wheels.

Unfortunately, I am burning some oil which I have to address very soon but I did purchase a 4 year/unlimited mileage aftermarket warranty. So, I have to figure out why I'm burning oil and hope the warranty will cover whatever is going on. I'm also in the car business, I manage the financing at a used car dealership. This saves me a lot of money with repairs!! LOL

So far, I really like this site because of all the information available. There seems to be some really great people on here. I look forward to talking with all of you!! I live right outside of Syracuse, is there anybody in the Upstate NY area?

On to a few pics with bad lighting haha...

AlabamaGuy,

I wish I could chalk it up to that saying lol, but I've added 2 quarts of oil since my last change (6000 ago) and I'm running full synthetic. Plus I notice every once in a while when I get on it, there is a quick little burst of white smoke coming up from the exhaust. So, I have to do some compression/leak tests to figure out what's going on. Hopefully it's nothing major, but that's why I bought a warranty. Anyone ever have this problem?

fyhgxp06,

Hey small world! I live in Clay near the Great Northern Mall. Graduated from Liverpool HS in 2001, and been in the area all of my life.

They are 20x9 and I believe they were an offset of 35mm for both front and rear. I'd have to check the invoice though to be sure lol. They fit just right and do not rub.

Thanks man, I'll look into that oil. I assume it's oil because I'm not losing any coolant. It could have a blue tint to it but the puff happens sporadically and I never get a real good look at it. And yes, my tranny is still stock (cross my fingers) and shifts like a champ.

Near Rome NY here. My 07 SS has always used oil and from what I have read here in the forums, so has alot of others cars. I believe it is a very common trait. Perhaps a combination of low tension piston rings, light weight oil (5w-30) and DOD system.
