Default How to read a G-meter?

Just curious if anyone knows how to read the G-meter? What are some good/normal numbers? What should I be working towards?

The g meter is actually pretty useless. All it tells you is the maximum acceleration obtained, however briefly, since the last time it was reset.

A G-tech (or other data logging unit) provides info on a real time basis and, depending on the model, can be downloaded for analysis...

I've always wanted a G-tech.

For the sake of argument...couldn't you just write down your previous best before resetting it?

Or take pics?

It's not always accurate though. There's no way this really happened.

From my car, so I know it was a fluke.

I have this one:
http://www.gtechpro.com/ss.html

For road course logging, this one http://www.gtechpro.com/rr.html provides more useful data.

I have the SS as well, though I haven't used it since I got the aDyno app on my Android phone, which seems to be equally as accurate.
